The Alzheimer’s Association 24/7 Helpline (800) 272-3900 is available around the clock, 365 days a year. Through this free service, specialists and master’s-level clinicians offer confidential support and information to people living with the disease, caregivers, families and the public.

If you’re a senior or disabled, call 1-800-432-2080

The State of New Mexico (government) is offering a program for seniors or disabled adults that cannot access groceries. Call 1-800-432-2080. Leave a message with your name, telephone number, and the city/town you reside in. They will be in contact with you within 2 hours of your call if not sooner.

Respite Resources

Hilarity for Charity, a nonprofit group started by actor Seth Rogen and his wife Lauren Miller (whose mother has early-onset Alzheimer's disease and whose grandparents both died of the disease), provides grants for respite care for people looking after loved ones with dementia. This is Santa Fe’s only caregiver group that meets on a weekly basis. Members share the challenges and difficulties of caregiving, but also share in providingideas and solutions. This group is as much about giving help as receiving it. Managed by David Davis. In order to maintain friendship, support and community for caregivers who have lost their loved-one, our grief support group meets at the same day/time/location. Managed by Ruth Dennis, MA and author of the book: Mindful Dementia Care.

The Los Alamos group meets twice a month and is similar to the Alliance Club in Santa Fe. Betty Ehart Senior Center 1101 Bathtub Row. Los Alamos. First and third Thursdays of every month. 1:45 - 3:00pm.

All Family Caregiver’s Support Groups

Meets second and fourth Wednesdays of the month. 2:00 - 3:00pm. Also, second and fourth Thursdays of the month. 2:00 - 3:00. 505-428-0670.

Alzheimer’s Cafe

Meets second Wednesday of the month at the Santa Fe Children’s Museum. 2:00 - 4:00. 1050 Old Pecos Trail. Santa Fe. 505-501-2412.

Annabelle’s Monthly Group

This monthly caregiver’s meeting at Kingston Residences - Hacienda Memory Care Unit. 2400 Legacy Court. Santa Fe. Third Thursday of every month. 10:00 - 12:00pm.

Memory Cafe

Memory Cafe meets monthly and is open to anyone living with Alzheimer’s or a related-disease, their families, caregivers, and those who have lost a loved-one. Unitarian Universalist Church. 107 E. Barcelona. Santa Fe. Fourth Friday of every month. 2:00 - 4:00

Out and About

Out and About are monthly social outings for those living with Alzheimer’s or a related illness, their families, caregivers and volunteers. Out and About hosts have included the International Folk Art Museum, Santa Fe Animal Shelter, Botanical Gardens, Shidoni, Nedra Matteucci Galleries and the SFCC Planetarium.Days, times and locations vary. Admission fees are usually always waived for Memory Care Alliance participants. Contact Memory Care Alliance for the latest schedule.
